What is "Activator Method Chiropractic Treatment"?
Not all Chiropractors are the same. Most chiropractors use traditional methods, pushing or 'twisting' the spinal joints. These methods create a 'popping' or 'cracking' sound, and can be very effective. However, Dr. Koch has found that many people are skeptical, hesitant, and uncomfortable with aggressive treatment; some even may avoid chiropractic.
Dr. Koch uses a very unique method of Chiropractic treatment called “Activator Method” of chiropractic. Activator Method is a gentle, light-force chiropractic treatment that does not "twist and crack" the spine, but rather uses light 'tapping' with a hand-held instrument to help re-align the joints, relax tight muscles, and reduce pain and nerve irritation.
Activator chiropractic treatments works well to correct the causes of back pain, neck pain, headaches, muscle tension, nerve problems, shoulder problems, hip pain, sciatic pain, and many more conditions. The gentle, relaxing treatments are ideal for those that do not want their back or neck "twisted and cracked." The
Activator Instrument can also be very effective with knee, shoulder, hip, ankle
and headache problems.
Why Haven’t I Heard Of This Gentle And Relaxing Procedure?
Dr. Koch is one of only a handful of chiropractors in the Milwaukee area that have
this instrument and use this technique. Dr. Koch has been using this method for 15
years, ever since he was an intern at Palmer Chiropractic Clinic.
One possible reason many chiropractors may be hesitant to learn and use the
Activator method is that it takes more time to treat a patient. A traditional
chiropractic treatment usually takes 2-3 minutes. Since the Activator Method is
very specific and requires a very precise analysis, it takes about 10 to 15
minutes to receive a treatment.
